Scott Calvert's Meat Loaf Recipe

Ingredients

  1. 2 lbs fresh ground beef (no more fat than 80/20)
  2. 1 ¼  cup KC Masterpiece BBQ sauce
  3. 1/2 small - medium white onion - chopped
  4. 2 large eggs
  5. 1/2 package of finely crumbled saltine crackers
  6. 5 Tbsp McCormick's Montreal Steak seasoning

Kitchen/Cookware Needed

  1. 1 Traeger Grill
  2. 1 large mixing bowl
  3. 1 chopping board
  4. 1 knife
  5. 1 large baking sheet
  6. 1 BBQ sauce brush

Preparation

  1. Pre-heat your Traeger Grill to 375 degrees.
  2. Add meat, eggs, 3/4 cup of the BBQ sauce, onions, 2 Tbsp of the steak seasoning, and cracker crumbs to mixing bowl and mix thoroughly with your hands using a "squishing" action.
  3. Remove the meat loaf mix from the bowl and place onto the baking sheet.
  4. Form the meat loaf mix into the desired "loaf" shape (like a loaf of bread is good).
  5. Sprinkle and pat the remaining steak seasoning to the top and sides of the loaf.
  6. Place the loaf (still on the sheet) in the grill and cook for 1 hour.
  7. After 1 hour, brush the remaining BBQ sauce to the top and sides of the loaf.  While doing this, use your brush to push off any grease on the sheet into the drip pan.
  8. Let loaf cook for 30 more minutes.
  9. Before removing the loaf, use your brush once again to push off any grease into the drip pan.
